POP BRIXTON

In the summer of 2019, Alphabetics Anonymous were approached by Make Shift to create  a piece for Pop Brixton, as part of their summer transformation. With a 20 meter street-facing canvas on Pope’s Road, consisting of 6 shipping containers across 2 levels, the mural had to remain consistent with the existing aesthetic of the space, as well as compliment the adjoining mural on the site.

Using the Brixton postcode SW9, Alphabetics Anonymous created an abstract piece of artwork using cropped and layered shapes and letterforms in classic industrial sign written styles. Working with a texture and colour palette informed by the ageing shipping container graphics, we produced and executed a design that sits comfortably with in it surroundings for both Pop Brixton and the bustling Pope’s Road.
