THE HERCULES TAVERN

Hana Sunny Whaler of Alphabetics Anonymous was approached to take on this project by Concorde BGW Design as part of the refurbishment of Fuller’s pub The Hercules Tavern, South Kennington.

The team worked together on the installation of signwritten messaging wrapping around the entire 3 storey exterior of the beautiful 19th Century corner pub. Concorde BGW designed the exterior signage in the style of traditional circus graphics, as the creation of the circus took place in nearby Waterloo, hence The Hercules Tavern’s re-naming after the famous strongman.

The circus aesthetic continued inside the pub, where the team also completed the interior way finding signage, topped off with their own additional decorative touches continuing the circus theme, including sign written features on interior beams and walls, and even a custom painted carousel horse!
